Family: Love em and hate em

Sometimes I wish I really was an island
My family's sticky beaks i can't stand
Nose into everything, gotta know
Comments sly and actions low

Opinions come prepackaged and peer made
Whoever gets in first gets the foundation laid.
It takes so much energy explaining one after another
They've gotta hear it themselves, each sister and brother

My actions don't fit their plans
They forget that my life is in my own hands.
A family disappointment I'm used to being
As for my future, that they'll be seeing

So much I don't like: such as space denied
Yet on them all, in moments of need I have relied
Disapproving, worrying, annoying but they love me
Look out for and do what they think best would be

They're a pain in the rear, their gossip I fear
They're controlling and manipulative by far and near
Yet a closer and more loving family you won't find
Not for anything would I leave my family behind

They're my cheerleaders (if they agree)
My best of my best friends, you see
We're there for each other, catch when we fall..
Parents and siblings I love them all.
