Standing with shock, words echoing
'Get out of my house', heart hollowing
He's family, we had an easy relationship
In the matter of a moment, I felt it rip
At first I was numb, filled with shock
Then grief set in, tho I tried to block
Walking blindly, repeating a line over again
Trust is for fools, don't trust men
But it's more than simply a gender
Anyone can surprise you, go on a bender
So remember, before you destroy a friend
Stop, consider and count to ten
Is it worth losing 9 years of friendship
Just to let your temper slip
As for you, you can try to mend it
But it isn't something I can easily forget
Eggshells are the shoes I'll wear around you
For I don't know if it'll happen again out of the blue
